Richard Stokes - AIA, LEED AP
Richard founded Stokes Architecture in 2000 with his first project, The Starlux in Wildwood, NJ. The owners, the Morey Family, continue to be one of his best clients. Richard is involved closely with the design and implementation of all the projects at Stokes Architecture. Richard is a licensed architect in three states and the District of Columbia, and a member of NCARB and the AIA.
Prior to founding the firm, Richard was an Associate for six years at Venturi Scott Brown and Associates where he was the project architect for Harvard Memorial Hall, Houston Hall, and Irvine Auditorium renovations at Penn, along with many other projects. Richard also worked for Bohlin Cywinski Jackson for three years, working on the design of a number of projects with the late Bernie Cywinski.
Richard received a Masters of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from Kent State University. While at Penn, Richard studied in Ahmedabad, India with BV Doshi, and while at Kent, he studied in Florence, Italy, with Superstudio.
